Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
9 months ago I hit my elbow on a table - I went to rest my head in my hands with elbows on the counter and the elbow slammed on the counter top edge- missing the counter top. I went to see a dr about 3 months ago and the X-ray showed nothing. I can't use the arm to lift or carry much. If I hold groceries with that arm, it begins to ached and feel very tight in the elbow - now when I wake from sleep -It takes a lot of grief and pain to slowly straighten my arm. What do I do?
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. Based upon your description of symptoms, I feel that you might have developed arthritic changes in your elbow joint secondary to trauma. These initial changes are not picked up by Xrays. I suggest you to go for MRI scan throws light upon all the soft tissue as well as bony problems to come to a diagnosis. Consult an orthosurgeon and follow his advise. Wish you a speedy recovery. Good day
