Elbow Injury, Swollen, Hurts To Touch, Arm Numbness. What Is This?
Hi, I was wrestling with a friend about 3 weeks ago and I fell right on my elbow . The next morning it was so swollen that it looked like a big tumor protruding from my elbow. It hurt to extend my elbow but didnt hurt too bad to touch. It was almost black from bruising and puffy. Now 3 weeks later it still looks like I have a tumor on my elbow and it is still puffy. It also seers with pain if I hit it on something and hurts a little to extend it. Other than that I feel no pain but my arm will feel numb sometimes. Any idea what this is?
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
It seems that you have suffered a bone injury around your elbow. You need to get an X-ray of the area done to find out the extent and exact location of the injury. Light weight plaster cast may be needed for relief.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Without X-ray, it is difficult to differentiate a fracture from others. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray/MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance.
Meanwhile you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid lifting weight and rest well.
Wishing you good health..
Regards.
Dr Saurabh Gupta.
