Elbow Pain Radiating To Arm And Shoulder, Finger Weakness, Wrist Discomfort. Taken Ibuprofen
I have been experiencing dull aches in my left elbow for two weeks. Recently the pain has started to radiate to my upper arm and shoulder. The ache is constant and mildly relieved by ibuprofen 200mg/q6hr. Occasionally I experience left pinky/ringfinger weakness and wrist discomfort. I try not to bend my left arm to give my elbow rest during the day and night. I also do not sleep on the left side.
Thanks for using Health Care Magic.Have you consulted your PCP/doctor regarding this problem? It would help ruling out cervical spinal nerve compression /radiculitis by getting imaging studies of the cervical spine.A neurological examination to rule out any local cause of compression of the nerves of the arm and forearm along the route would help.B-12 levels and a cerebral CT scan ,as also any systemic or neurological cause of this needs to be identified.Examination and investigation by your doctor/Neurologist would help pinpoint the cause and subsequent treatment.
