Electrocuted At Work. Pain In Chest And Spluttering. Reason For Chest Pain?
Hi, my boyfriend was recently electrocuted at and work (nailed into a live wire on a house) and is still expriencing chest pain along with some stuttering , he also has a metal plate in his right arm do to a compound frature that happend years ago. The ER doctor told him he wasn t electrocuted because he didnt have any burns on his body, should we still go to another doctor and get a second opinion and should we worry about the chest pain?
Hi Quintino,
Welcome to heathcare Magic!
If he did not have a fall as a result of shock then the chest pain is nothing to worry.
It is a pulled muscle due to shock which would resolve in two three days.
He can take OTC Ultracet 6hourly to ease the pain.
If he had a fall then he must consult a physician and should get Chest Xray, ECG,CBC,RFT.
To detect any serious lung/heart condition as a result of electrocution.
Wish you a great health!
