Elevated RBC Levels, Iron Saturation Levels And Ferritin. Are These Connected? Suffer From Gilbert Syndrome
My RBC is slightly evelvated for last 10 years. I have slightly higher iron saturation level and ferritin level of 409. Is my RBc and iron levels connected. ?I have Gilbert syndrome . I have slightly elevated sgpt ( 70 ) and normal sgot . Do I need to be worried. I used to take 2000 mg vitamin c per day. I am stopping it now . Please advise
You need to consult a doctor for the elevated RBC level, iron saturation and ferritin levels as you might have a condition separate from Gilbert syndrome. I believe you should have elevated bilirubin levels in Gilbert syndrome. If you have stopped using vitamin C it is another reason you should consult your doctor who prescribed the medication in the first place. You might also need to donate blood on purpose while they run tests to find out the reason for your increased blood levels. I hope this helps.
Take care and have a lovely day!
