Hello. My Enlarged Circumvallate Papillae are somewhat swollen and I have a sore throat on the left side. I went to the doctor for a sore throat last week and the strep test came back negative but he wrote me a prescription for Keflex. After taking the antibiotic for two days I felt much better. I forgot to take a days worth of (3) pills though. Could not taking my antibiotic trigger my throat being sore again and the swollen Enlarged Circumvallate Papillae? I also have a few small white patches on my tonsils... Help???? Thank you so much,
hi
as described by you, sore throat along with small white patches on tonsils depict tonsilitis .your strep test was negative which cant confirm its not tonsillitis because tonsillitis can be either viral or bacterial and in bacterial it dont only involve strep as its causative agent. so continue with keflex. also do warm saline rinses and take warm liquid stuff as much as possible. it will take atleast a week to properly heal. so dont skip your medicine.
wishing you speedy recovery
with best regards
Dr Ankit
what seems from your symptoms is that you might b suffering from oral candida infection. please refer to your oral pathologist as soon as possible so that they can look and diagnose it properly. treatment should be started soon.
