Enlarged Lymph Node In Pelvic Area. Sensitive, Painful. What Can This Be?
I am a male in my late forties and discovered about a month ago what I thought was an enlarged lymph node in the soft tissue on the right pelvic area between the base of my penis and my hip bone . It has subsequently grown in size and is now like a short thick sausage in shape, about 7cm long and 4 cm at its widest point. It runs in horizontal direction. At the beginning it was not sore, but subsequently has become sensitive and sometimes quite painful. What do you think can this be?
Hello.
Thanks for using the forum on HCM.
From the description of the symptoms this could be an enlarged lymph node in the inguinal region. This can be due to various reasons for which you require full assessment with your doctor. The other cause can be an inguinal hernia which can also present with similar signs, the most important being a swelling in that region. The hernia can become sensitive once the sac enlarges containing contents such as loop of intestine within the sac. You should consult with your doctor for full clinical examination for proper diagnosis.
Feel free for further queries.
Regards.
