Hi, welcome to HCM I am Dr Das
First of all, you did not tall us about the other clinical history like spleenomegally .
From your history, i can suggest you don't take this casually. First of all go for another peripheral blood study for the atypical cells. If needed do a flowcytometric analysis . The blood picture may sometimes caused by viral infection. But it has to be clarified .
Does he have fever, sweating, sputum?
Cough with lymphadenopathy is due to various causes. But need to consider tuberculosis, infectious mononuclesosis, lymphoma as top differentials. Rubbery nodes are typical of lymphoma.
Please get him evaluated thoroughly with an Xray chest, PBS, sputum for AFB (if any produced) and a paediatric consultation.
Take care and please keep me informed of your progress.
Good Luck!
I hope to have answered your query satisfactorily.
Thank you!
