Epileptic, Had Seizures, Numbness From Neck To Waist. Are They Mini Strokes?
my partner is male 33yrs is an epileptic has a seizure atleast once a week in the last two months he is taking little turns from the neck down to his waist total numbness mostly in his arms cant feel anything is totally contious wen these occur lasts about 2minutes do u think this is a new type of seizure i thought they might be mini strokes.
Seizures are of different types, In generalized seizures individual loses the consciousness along with involuntary movements of extremities. He is not having loss of consciousness so most likely he is not suffering from generalized seizures. Other seizures are partial seizures. He is having electrical discharge in neck down to waist so most likely he is suffering from some form of partial seizure. Many broad spectrum drugs are useful in seizures like Sodium Valproate, Carbamazepine etc. Consult a Neurologist or Psychiatrist for expert opinion and get his EEG done.
Thanks
