Expelled A Large Tissue During Period. What Is This ?
for obgyn: hello. i expelled a large tissue during my last period (the first after one month of ocp -alesse). I am guessing that this is uterine lining or a decidual cast. my question is - how do i know what it is , decidual cast vs. miscarriage? i am new to the area and do not have a regular doctor and gyn yet. and i wouldn t how or where to take it to a lab for study. thanks.
medical history: 29 yo g0p0
was on oral contraceptives from 09/2011 to 01/2013. recently restarted 6/8/13 until 7/3/13 with purpose of delaying period a week (successfully). Menstruation started very lightly 7/8 and 7/9 and this tissue/object dispelled during the night. Am currently off OCP again.

Expelled A Large Tissue During Period. What Is This ?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. To confirm miscarriage or other pathology, you need to undergo one TVS scan along with blood test for beta-hCG. With using OCP, you may get above clinical features and if you had taken OCP regularly, then chance of pregnancy is quite less (less than 1%). Following test reports, you may consult with gynecologist for next line management. Maintain genital hygiene. Good luck. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
