Hi Dear , As per your query you have pain around adam s apple and swelling along with burning sensation . Well the symptoms you mention in query occur due to many reasons upper respiratory infection or cold; overuse of the voice box by talking, singing, or shouting; gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), reflux laryngitis and chronic irritation of the vocal cords . But in your case it seems to me that probable reason for symptoms is acid reflux , which is causing problem . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination doctor may order X-ray , endoscopy of upper digestive track and ambulatory acidity test . Doctor may prescribe omeprazole and ranitidine . For now do warm saline gargles , avoid eating spicy and heavy meal specially at night , keep your head elevated while laying down and take antacid after every meal .
