Experiencing Shar Pain In Ears

Hi there I keep experiencing a severe pain in the top of my ear. It starts as a dull pain and gradually the pain increases. When the pain is at its worst it hurts to move my jaw and head. I have seen my GP and he couldn't find any thing wrong. There doesn't seem to be any pattern.
