Experiencing Symptoms Of Yeast Infection. Prescribed With Miconazole. What Could It Be?

im experiencing symptoms i think are similar to that of a yeast infection. i went to my school nurse and she prescribed me miconazole to use for 7 nights. almost immediately after i used it i felt what i would describe as severe burning. I'm no longer sure if i have a yeast infection or if what i experienced is supposed to happen.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Symptoms of yeast infection include itching and curd like white discharge with a typical odour. There could be burning sensation while passing urine with increased frequency.
Are you having any of these symptoms? If yes, then you have a yeast infection which should be treated as soon as possible.
Miconazole is an effective antifungal used against yeast infection. In my practice I have seen cases where they have felt slight burning sensation after application of miconazole but if there is severe burning and itching, it could be that you have an allergic reaction to it. Please get in touch with your GP for examination and treatment.
Tablet Atarax 25 mg twice daily for two days will help reduce the soreness.
Keep the area clean and dry.

Thanks.
