Hello Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your father has mild enlarged prostate with residual urine volume of 60 ml.
During normal micturition bladder is emptied completely and entire urine is drained out. In a person with enlarged prostate the prostatic part of urethra is compressed giving rise to obstructive urinary symptoms and one is not empty bladder completely and some amount of urine remains in bladder what is called as residual urine .
The volume of the residual urine is a main parameter to decide the mode of treatment.
Since your father has prostate of size of 27 gms he can be treated with drugs like Tomsulosin once daily .This helps in relaxing the smooth muscles in bladder neck and prostate and helps to reduces the residual urine and there by other symptoms like frequency ,urgency etc. Dr.Patil.
