Extreme Chest And Back Pain Causing Difficulty In Straightening Legs Post Delivery. Normal?

Dear Sir, My wife has delivered a baby last month (18th Sep). She is maintaining a good health, but since then sometimes she feels extreme pain near chest and back. The pain is so severe that she cannot even straighten her legs when it occurs. Is it the normal constipation or acidity related pain, or shall we consult to some relevant doctor. Regards, Varun

Hi Varun,
Congratulations for the baby.
It is possible that while nursing her baby or while lying, your wife is not maintaining correct posture. This can result in muscle spasm of the back and can cause pain.
Chest pain can be due to acidity and gas and will be relieved by dietary precautions.
If the pain is persisting you can get her examined by a medical professional. Donot self- medicate as some medicines are to be avoided in mothers who are feeding their babies.
If you have any furthur query, I will be happy to help.
Thanks.

Hi Varun,
This is not the typical pain because of constipation or acidity. I constipation there is not that much pain, some time can have pain also, but it is more feeling heavy and uncomfortable than pain and acidity pain is also not that much that severe annd they relieved easily by using anta acids.

It is difficult to know what is causing this pain in chest and back without having a proper histroy and examination. I would suggest you to have a consultation with your doctor to find out the reason for this pain.
Thanks and take care.
