My son and I was horsing around the other night (he s 25) and he hit me in the thigh really hard. I don t think I have ever been in as much pain before. The next day I could hardly move it an it felt like it was ripping when I bent it. Its been more than a week ago and it is still extremley painfull. It wakes me up in the night. Any ideas?

Hi,
I think you may have suffered a hematoma in the muscle. This is bleeding into the muscle which can produce a lot of pain. It is not serious and will recover but may take a few more days. I suggest you take paracetamol and ibuprofen for pain relief. Strapping your thigh may also help.
