Eye Pain, Red. Is It Torn? What Is The White Bump?

Hi! Starting yesterday, my eye really started hurting. When I pulled the lower lid away from my eye, I could see that the normally pinkish part was now an angry red. It kind of looks like it might have been torn. I wear contacts almost everyday, so is that what s caused it? Also, right on the waterline where the red part is, is a little white bump. Does that also have to do with the redness?

Hello,

It is likely that you have an internal hordeolum( stye) in that eye. The first thing is to discontinue with the contact lenses for 2 weeks. You can do hot fomentation for 10 minutes, thrice a day for 3-4 days. It is better to take oral antibiotics if the redness, pain and lump persist beyond 3-4 days.

Regards
