Face Gets Hot For Hour. Urine Test, Chest X-ray, Abdominal Ultrasound, CT Scan, BP Are Normal
I am a 72-yr-old male. My face almost every day gets hot (but not sweaty or obviously flushed) for an hour or more especially in the evenings. Results from a urine test for 5-HIAA, plus chest Xray and abdominal ultrasound and CT scan, do not find anything negative (except in lungs some emphysema). My internist now says it could be high blood pressure, others say this is unlikely as a cause. (My blood pressure, with medication, is normal when tested by a doctor; I can t get a device to work when I test it at home. ) I have not really found a serious cause for this condition, but I am afraid there is one and not sure what to do next or what kind of a doctor could best address my concerns..

As all your investigations have come clean and your vitals are stable and your General Physician has tried to reassure you to be not worried. Now all that you need to do is to trust your doctor and beliee in him. You are fine. Hot flushes in a face at the age of 72 is innocuous, as all the serious morbidities have been sorted out.
you are in safe hands, if you need further satisfaction see a neurologist to rule out neurological sensations troubles as burning or warm sensation can be sensory issue. Can be a climatic change or Just a cause to look for to get worried about.
Try some anti depressants in the morning and see the doctor constantly.
