Facial Calculus And Staining On Teeth. Taking Mycobutin, Clarithromycin And Clofazimine. Will They Help?
Yes. I am a dental Hygienist and have a patient experiencing some changes in her mouth. she is currently taking mycobutin, clarithrimycin, and clofazamin. Today she presented with severe staining and heavy facial caluus build up all acroos her teeth. Very different for her. Could this combination of meds cause this?
As you have mentioned that the patient is on mycobutin it causes saliva to turn brownish which is harmless but causes permanent stains on the teeth. I would suggest you to go for thorough scaling and polishing of the teeth. Ask your patient to maintain a good oral hygiene use antiseptic mouthwash gargles twice daily under prescription of his Dentist.
Hi your staining is due to mycobutin so don't worry. Scaling and polishing is the treatment for staining and calculus. Afterwards maintain oral hygiene. Use mouthwash daily for twice a day Take care
