Facial Hair Growth During Pregnancy.

I am 38 years old and 12 weeks pregnant. This is my first pregnancy and I conceived through IVF treatment. I do not have PCOS. I was on progesterone supplement (Crinone gel and Susten 200) and Wysolone 10mg during the first two months but these have been stopped since the last one month. Recently, I have noticed very thick facial hair growth on my cheeks, chin and upper lip. I never had so much body hair and am getting really stressed out about this development. Please advise if this is due to any imbalance or deficiency in my body? Is this permanent or temporary? Should I get any tests done?

Some hormonal disturbances are acceptable during pregnancy. You can go for blood investigation i.e DHEAS AND Testosterone. But as your pregnanacy is precious, avoid taking any drug for the same. You can think of it after delivery. Even if it lasts after delivery, you can go for laser hair reduction for the same which is a very acceptable treatment option now a days.
