Feeling Electric Zap In Wrist, Shoulder, Chest While Coughing, Breathing. Possible Reason?
My step son asked me to check into a symptom he has been having for a few months and never told anyone. He said that he gets an electric zap starting at his left wrist , to the left shoulder and then down his left side of his chest. It seems to happen more when coughing, talking or breathing. He said it happened about 7-8 times today. In November he had a collapsed left lung , spontaneous nuero thorax (spelling?), and was in the hospital 4 days. About 6 months before that he had gone through a series of rabies shots.
Hi welcome to Health care magic forum. Rabies shots have nothing to do with the present symptoms, Neumo thorax also may not have anything to do.
It appears to be due to cervical spondylosis, due to pressure on the sensory nerves supplying these areas will emerge from the vertibral column, through a narrow space inbetween 2 vertibrae. When these nerves are compressed due to pressure on them, cause numbness, or a electric shock like feeling , or pain . In the begening they appear intermittently then continuously as disease progresses.
I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have C.T. scan for confermation of the degree of the pressure on hte nerves.
Wishing for a quick recovery and thanks for calling.
