Feeling Like Grit In Both Eyelids Even After Flushing Eyes With Saline Water And Using Restasis Drops. What Could This Be?

I feel like there is sand/grit in both of my lower eyelids ... there is nothing there. I wear contacts (they are out now), and I have flushed with saline and put my Restasis drops in, but no relief, just considerable discomfort. No temperature, pain, chills or cough - am in good health. Any ideas?

Hello,
It seems from the history that you are having grittiness in the eyes and eye lids. These symptoms indicate blepharitis or inflammation of the eye lid margin.
The treatment of the condition is by lid hygiene by cleaning the eye lid margin, using antibiotic eye ointment.
Restasis is artificial tear eye drops and it is used for treatment of dry eyes. Blepharitis can lead to dry eyes and hence it is used in blepharitis for treatment of associated dry eyes.
Hence I advice you to consult your eye doctor for examination and treatment of blepharitis.

Thank you
