Feeling Of Wire Inside. History Of Radical Hysterectomy For Cervical Cancer. Time To Heal Internal Vaginal Stitches?
Hi I had a radical hysterectomy on the 15 August this year for cervical cancer. How long should I expect the internal vaginal stitches to remain. It feels like wire inside so I guess they are the stitches. I was planning on stating being intimate with my partner again in a couple of weeks but this discovery worries me. Your advice would me mist welcome. Thank you.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The internal vaginal stitches usually heal by 15 days after the surgery but the suture material can be felt in the vagina even upto 80 days after the surgery. You can get it examined from your gynecologist and get the stitches removed. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
