Feeling Pressure In The Ear, Muffled Hearing. No Pain. Cause?
This just started 3 days ago...my right ear occasionally has a sensation the same as it feels when you are beginning a yawn. It's only in my right ear. It begins with a light pressure...a slight tapping...then the muffled, underwater "noise" that's in your ears when you yawn. It doesn't hurt, but progressively getting more frequent.
Your description is not very clear. Within the limits of answering to a query posted over internet without being able to examine you, I can suggest the following.
Such symptoms can be caused by conditions such as eustachian tube dysfunction - a condition affecting the tube which connects middle ear to back of nose; the tube helps in normalizing the pressure in the middle ear. It is not an alarming problem, you could wait for few more days and see if it subsides.
Your description of underwater noise and muffled hearing could also suggest middle ear effusion - fluid in middle ear. In that case you need to rule out the causes for such effusion in adults which could mean a visit to an ENT specialist.
Hope this helps!
