Feeling Sick. Coughed Up Green Phlegm. Took Mucinex. Voice Is Raspy. Cure?

I am a 20 yr old female, 145 pds, and great medical history. last time I was sick was labor day weekend
2 days ago I started to feel a sickness come on and that entire night all I did was cough up green phlem after taking a mucinex. Then the next day I was coughing all day to try and get the mucus out. That night I completely lost my voice, and sometimes when I drink an insane amount of water I get my voice back a little bit. My voice is still very raspy.

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I read your query regarding cough with phlegm of green colour, and your voice is also became husky.

According to your symptoms it appears as you are suffering from acute respiratory tract infection involving your larynx also thus giving rise to weakness in voice or husky voice.

Regarding treatment you should take-

(a) Antibiotic.

(b) Mucolytic & decongestant.

(c) Warm saline gargling and steam inhalation.
