I had pre-op blood tests on Thursday and there were difficulties. The first phlebotomist couldn't get much blood out of my right arm, and wound up going into my left arm where he was successful. I was told 3 hours later that I had to have another blood draw as they didn't get enough for all of the tests, and this time was at a different lab. The last phlebotomist was able to draw blood from my right arm. (I was told that the first person missed the vein.) Within 5 minutes of the last draw I suddenly felt tingling in my right arm, weakness and was light headed. Granted I am hypoglycemic, I have never had this reaction to a blood draw before. Had to go home where I ate food and then had to immediately lie down - sleep. To be honest, I haven't felt right since this last draw. Why? What happened to me?
