Hi Cranberries,
Thanks for writing your query.
Your symptoms are due to increase in acidity in stomach. Any trigger of acidity will increase your problem. Pain killers are prone to increase the discomfort of
Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease.
Hence pain killers are always to be taken along with an anatacid to decrease the harmful effects of pain killers on the stomach mucosa.
You should take
Rabeprazole (Pariet that you have already taken) along with
Domperidone 10 mg (Domillium) for relief of your symptoms. Antacid in gel or liquid form is also beneficial in curing symptoms of
hyperacidity as it forms a protective layer over the damaged mucosa.
You should also follow some precautions like :-
1. Avoid eating spicy/oily foods.
2. Donot miss a meal.
3. Avoid mental/emotional stress.
4. Avoid
self medication especially pain killers and steroids.
5. Avoid cigarette/alcohol.
6. Drink lots of pure water.
7. Yoghurt or curd will help you in some relief of your symptoms.
Also get yourself investigated for H.pylori infection.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
