Feels Fatigued After Eating Meal. Not Able To Concentrate, Feels Confused. Glucose Reading Normal. What Could Be The Cause?

Within an hour of eating a midday meal, I become profoundly fatigued. I cannot concentrate, I become muddle-headed and confused, and if I didn t lie down to nap, I think I would fall down. If I do not eat, this doesn t happen. The foods that cause this in its most severe form are eggs and tofu, though virtually all foods cause it. When it occurs, my glucose readings are usually within the normal range. My HbA1c tests are not indicative of diabetes . But a handful of pretzels or a bowl of Grape Nuts will make my levels spike to well over 200. The levels return to normal within two hours.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your problem descriptions. As you are clear about your glucose and other pathological conditions, I hope there is nothing to worry.

It is very normal to feel fatigued after afternoon meal or heavy meal any time because body channelizes the energy to digestive organs to assist easy digestion. That is the reason why we feel sleepy after food. Food which are not so easy to digest triggers body to release more energy towards digestion task. I am wondering, why are you testing your glucose level just with these sleepy feelings? This could lead to OCD. Please avoid it.

Hope this clears your doubts. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
