Fell And Bruised Left Hip. Painful Swelling. Time To Become Normal?

I fell and badly bruised my left hip 3 days ago. The pain was very bad, but today it is starting to get less painful. I can stand on it but not walk yet. It is still swollen, but not as bad as it was. How long does it take to get back to normal? When I do try to walk on it, the leg gives out. My email is YYYY@YYYY

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us

If you are able to bear the weight on your limb without much pain then a bone injury is unlikely. You need to continue with rest and ice . Most of the times it is a soft tissue injury but it takes at least 5-7 days for the pain to subside.
Anyway an Xray is necessary to rule out a fracture. Consult an orthosurgeon.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
