Fell Backwards And Scrapped The Left Side Of Leg. Injured Back. Hurts To Move Or Bend. Recommendation?
3 days ago while crossing a creek with various shaped stepping stones I lost my balance due to a loose stone I stepped on and fell backwards scrapping the left side of my leg bloody and injuring my back--seems to be back and front area of heart internally. It might be a broken rib or strained muscles????-but hurts a lot when I move certain ways, pull, bend over or lift. The leg seems fine now, but the left back kills!! What might it be?
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. Your fall could have caused blunt injury of the back muscles resulting in spasm which typically produces severe pain during particular movements involving those muscles. The problem should resolve with the following measures
* bed rest * Ice compressions * Analgesic / antiinflammatory gel application
Hope this helps
