Fell Light Headed, Exhausted, Sleepy. Had Unusual Period. Pregnant?
went to see my doctor about a week ago and during the time i went i was going through my menstrual cycle. during my first day of my cycle it was heavy and cramps were more severe than usual. second day i was only spotting when i urinated. third day it was the same as the second but lighter. after my 3rd day it completely stopped. i now feel light headed, exhausted, and sleepy all the time. I do take vitamins that contain iron on a daily basis. blood pressure is normal, and my diet hasn t changed at all.

If you were pregnant, it would be related to conception during your last cycle. Given that you are now into the next cycle, IF you were pregnant a pregnancy test should be positive. You need to do a home test now to figure this out. Otherwise, assuming you are not pregnant, this might simply be related to a systemic illness, such as the flu.

Profuse flow during the first day of your menstrual cycle mostly excludes the possibility of pregnancy. Also, it could be the reason for scanty menstruation in the following days. If you are still suspecting the possibility of pregnancy, you may take the blood test and follow it up with a trans-vaginal sonogram to be sure. Also, check if your hemoglobin levels are below normal as anemia can also cause the symptoms you have. Please consult your doctor for further suggestions. Take care.
