Female With HIV, Had Shingles, Healed, Still Get The Tingy Feeling On Back, Having Black Spots. Cure?
I am 37 yrs old black female with HIV . I had shingles 10 yrs ago and it healed. The attack was on my right upper side of my breast and the back. My question is, I still get the tingy feeling once in a while especially my back. Secondly, there is one particular area on my back where it has remained extremely sensitive and once in a while it itches. Any slight inch always causes a bleaster. In addition the black spots are not going away even after this many years. Please advise
The tingling sensation and sensitivity of your back are due to post herpetic neuralgia. It is more common with HIV positive individuals, even though 10 years is a longer period. There are wonderful drugs available for Post herpetic neuralgia. You can consult your physician the will guide you better. An effective ART and an increase in CD4 count will prevent the recurrences.
