Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Be The Reason For Shingle Outbreak Other Than HIV?
I have had recurring shingles, at least once a year, sometimes twice a year for about 10 years now. It is always in the same place, on my left side, under my arm where the band of my bra hits me. My Dr wants to do an HIV test. The word HIV is so scary. What are other reasons that could cause shingles outbreaks?
As a child u have suffered chicken pox, the shingles, also known as zoster, caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus, dormant in the nerve ganaglions since a childhood infection. u can test for HIV no harm, i know it is very scary. but no to worry, repeated attacks of shingles are due fever attacks or high heat and decreased immunity
