Fever, Body And Acute Stomach Pain For 5 Yr Old. Ibuprofen And Tylenol Don't Help. Suggestions ?

My 5 year old daughter woke with a fever and over all pain, sometimes acute stomach pain and her eyes hurt. Ibuprophen at 2pm didn t break fever but she slept till 5:30 then woke in tears . Tylenol for cold at 6pm hasn t resolved fever or discomfort. Only facility is small town emerg which is overwhelmed with tourists. A tepid bath is not working and she s really out of sorts. Help?????????

Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Your child seems to have a Viral fever and in the initial course , the fever will be high grade and it will be continuous.
So give Tylenol every 4 to 6th hourly depending on the presence of fever in prescribed dosage and do tepid sponging with lukewarm water if there is high grade fever.
Give plenty of oral fluids and soft diet to maintain hydration and nutrition.
Consult your Pediatrician for complete examination and basic evaluation to look for any concerning signs and for appropriate management.
