Fever, Chills, Weakness. Chest X Ray Shows Hazy Area, Normal Blood Tests, Waiting For Scan Results. Any Ideas?
My husband has been sick for over a week now..fever went to 103 a couple of days ago, chills, shaking. Fatigue, sleeping on & off all day, weakness... intermittent dry cough. Fever back to normal today. All bloodwork came back normal. Chest X-ray showed, according to radiologist, no pneumonia but there is a hazy area..not sure where. He went today for a CT scan w/ contrast..results tomorrow.
As your husband had fever, chills, dry cough and fatigue for a week, its the right step in getting blood workup and chest X ray done.
Chest X ray is a very useful examination in detecting any abnormalities in the chest region. As haziness is mentioned, CT scan chest might give us the exact details of the problem and whether it is associated with your husbands present situation. I suppose your husband has taken medication through the week. Pneumonia has typical appearances on Chest X ray. As you have not mentioned the exact area of haziness, it is difficult for me to list out probable conditions, however the CT scan will confirm even a problematic area as small as 2 mm in diameter. Keeping haziness in mind, any fluid collection in the chest will also be confirmed.
Hope this helps
