Fever, Loss Of Apetite, Neck, Back Pain, Earpain, Green Phlegm, Coughing. Suggestions?

Friday evening is when all of these things started happening to me. i began to become very lazy and droopy, and started running a fever of 102.8. i lost most/all my appetite , it is now Wednesday and it feels as if most of the problems are gone, although from Friday evening to Tuesday night my fever ran from 99-103.7 degrees constantly changing. i took long hot steamy showers, Luke warm showers, i ve been using Ibuprofin and Tylenol switching them out. also other pains that i felt were extreme heat behind my eyes feeling like they were going to pop, very bad neck , lower back, mid back problems, a sharp pain in my ear, green phlegm in my throat , dry heaving, and my mouth being numb and completely and utterly sore. i ve been drinking a lot of water, almost 5 cases of Dasani to stay hydrated because i felt as if i was severely dehydrated several gallons of orange juice, and vitamin water, i ve eaten a lot of chicken broth and chicken noodle soup, but the reason i m asking this i would like to know what i had? i did a lot of reading and i came up with the conclusion that it was influenza (flu), but it seems as if it is all gone. the only problem i am now facing is is the hacking of green phlegm from my throat and every time i try to breathe i immediately start coughing, bad, it feels like ice crystals are in my lungs i don t know what is or what to do. i cannot go to the hospital or emergency room, because i do not have any health insurance, and i do not make enough money to pay for the visit. please help

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding fever, loss of appetite, body ache, green phlegm and you have taken medicines results in recovery from all symptoms except green phlegm and cough.

Your clinical history indicates that you are still having respiratory tract infection though you are free from fever and body ache. At present it becomes necessary to identify the infective organism and treat them accordingly. This will be possible only after doing culture and sensitivity of your phlegm. The report of this test will clearly tell about infecting organism and the list of antibiotic that may be use to cure your infection.

At the same time you should yourself investigate for blood sugar as increase level of blood sugar always hinders the recovery from infection.

I hope your query is answered.

Regards.
