Fibrotic Lesion In Left Lung, Apicolordotic View Advised. What Does This Mean?
Hi. I got the result of my chest xray it says: fibrotic lesion seen in the left upper lung . Impression: ptb left ; an apicolordotic view is advised. What does apicolordotic view means? 2 years ago my chest xray result: A suspicious density seen in the left superimposed in the second anterior rib- to be evaluated thoroughly by an apicolordotic view. What s wrong with that?
Usually a doctor go for Chest X ray PA view & Lateral View if they are suspecting any lung pathology. After that if further needed they can go for some other investigations. Similarly Chest X Ray apical view or Lordotic view or apicolordotic view is same as your previous one but with different body posture during X ray. This will be explained by your X ray technician when you will go for it. In such view lesions in upper part of the lungs or in the apex of the lungs are clearly visible as comparision to the common PA view. In PA view bone (ribs) shadow will overlie the lesions hence making them hidden behind the bone.
Hope you understand what Apicolordotic view means.
All the best
Bye
Dr Abhishek Singh
