Flu Like Symptoms, Lymph Nodes On Left Side Of Neck And In Left Collarbone, Teeth. Should Be Concerned Of Supraclavicle Lymph Pain?
I am trying to find out what is wrong - I bumped my teeth with a toothbrush 2 weeks ago- and my 2 lower teeth started hurting a couple days later. I woke up 5 days later after being in a smoky bar 4 hours nite before and felt like flu like- no fever - then lymph nodes on left side of neck and in left collarbone start hurting as well as teeth- I went to dentist and he said it could be tooth will die- but too soon to show up on xray- did nerve conduction test and 2 teeth didn't do well. Then 2 more days which is about 1 1/2 weeks after original tooth bumping- I developed fever and more pain in lymphs around jaw and under collarbone lymph area. I was put on Amoxicillin by phone by old doctor and guessed it was tooth. 4 days later I got worse again as I have been immune to amox in past. Was put on Levaquin and did have bloodwork done - with a little elevated white count and a tweak of sed rate>11- but I still have PAIN under left ear and along jaw and in tooth area as well as Supraclavicle lymph swollen. Dentist wants me to come back and says probably need root canal- but Periodontist also saw me and said he is not convinced that there is something else going on and time would tell if 2 teeth can be saved without root canal. So I am hurting and its now been 2 total weeks and becoming scared. Since 2nd day on levaquin - I appear to be a little better - but should I be concerned about supraclavicle lymph pain as well as pain behind my ear along jaw bone?- My family says it makes no sense that I could bump my teeth and be in pain and run fever. I have history of low white count and Eppstein Barr??
HI Thank for choosing HCM, It all seems sepsis, taken placed because of the tooth brush trauma, in first incidence there must be a contused wound developed near the gums, later there must be sepsis developed in the wound, and lymph node is consequence of this sepsis, condition is became worse due to late management and resistive type of anti biotic, in such case fourth generation beta lactam antibiotic should be tried, no need to go for root canal treatment, H/O Epstein barr and low count in past is nothing to do with present condition, Have nice day.
