Fluid Between Lungs And Ribs, Ambistryn 1gm Injection
Hello, My cousin had fluid between his lungs and the rids. Doctor has taken out that fluid, but now by doing test he found that the SGPT result was 90 IU/L. He gave some medicines for that. After 4 days the test was again done and the result was 236 IU/L. The Doctor told us to give him AMBISTRYN 1gm injection for 15 days with other tablets . He has no physical problem, he is not having any weakness. Should we admit him? I need further help. Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for your query. Fluids in pleural cavity (what you call between lungs and ribs), commonly known as pleural effusion. There are many cause for that including tuberculosis. Inj ambistryn is given for that along with few other drugs. I think you must post the reports of the pleural fluid and exactly what drug was given to him to help me better understand the disease. What I feel is they have started anti tubercular treatment. Your cousin developed drug induced hepatitis so the proper treatment was stopped and modified regimen was started. There is nothing to get worried......plz post the details for further advice....
Best wishes
