Fractured Rib Will Be Healed With Ibuprofen And Rest Or Should I Visit Doctor?

If I suspect I have a fractured rib should I see a doctor or just treat with ibuprofen and rest? On NYE a friend lifted me from the front in a big hug. I heard and felt a big crack. It has become progressively more painful since then. Everything I read online seems to state that that is all that can be done.

we assume you have rib fracture. you would have pain while breathing. you should not have breathing difficulty. If you have breathing difficulty you should see a doctor. If you are having only pain then, you can continue with ibuprofen, but pain should decrease as the time elapse since injury. It may take 3 to 6 weeks to be completely pain free.
