I have frequent, uncontrolable diarrhea , painful mouth ulcers for lasting for 3 years, stomach pain, skin disorder , and I suffer from axnity. I had a colonoscopy down and my doctor says I do not have Crohn s Disease. Isn t it true that Crohn s can not be detected with a colonoscopy sense you can not see the small intestent and sometimes this is overlooked. Could I possible have Crohn s Disease?
hello
thanks for posting your query
I would be pleased to answer your question
Crohn's disease does present with gross pathological changes in the intestines and can be picked up by the colonoscopy . However , it is also very important to remember that a biopsy of the intestine during the colonoscopy gives a perfect diagnosis . Your clinical correlation is very important and you need to surely get the diagnosis rechecked with a second opinion . You symptoms are very suggestive of Crohn's or an inflammatory bowel disease.
Thanks and Take care
