Hello there!
Sounds like an infection of the middle ear(
Otitis Media) with effusion OME. Complicating the auditory system and vestibular syestem And as you said its 4th or 5th time its a recurrent Otitis media and it needs to be addressed and worked up for the etiology and cause.
Do you have any
Ear Pain(
Otalgia)
Headache
Fever
Irritability
Loss of appetite
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Buzzing in ear Tinnitus?
If you have these symptoms then i am afraid antibiotics wont be enough.Intervention would be necessary. But before you need Pneumatic otoscopy, examining the entire head and neck region, documented examination of the external ear and tympanic membrane (TM) for these four things
1)Color – A normal TM is a translucent pale gray; an opaque yellow or blue TM is consistent with
middle ear effusion (MEE)
2)Position – In AOM, the TM is usually bulging; in OME, the TM is typically retracted or in the neutral position
3)Mobility – Impaired mobility is the most consistent finding in patients with OME
4)Perforation – Single perforations are most common
You would need
Antimicrobials
Antihistamine-decongestants
Intranasal and systemic steroids
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
Mucolytics
Aggressive management of allergic symptoms
Might need interventions but examination will decide.they are
Tympanocentesis
Tympanic tube insertion
Adnoidectomy and
tonsillectomy etc.
So see your nearby OtorhinoLaryngologist sooner to avoid complications.
I wish you very good health.Get well soon.
Cheers
Dr Khan
