Frequent Vomiting With Stomach Ache. Gluten Test Is Cleared. Should I Go To Allergist Or Gastroenterologists?

My 11 year old son vomits often. He says his stomach hurts all the time. He can vomit in the garbage can at school with no one knowing. He says it comes out like a machine gun. He has vomited over the back of the bleachers at a football game right next to me and I had no idea. We have had him tested for gluten problems but they came back clear. Should I go to a allergist or a pediatric stomach Dr.?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

One of the most common causes of vomiting at this age are either infection, food poisoning or gastritis.
If it is associated with fever and abdominal pain, it may be due to gall bladder disease or appendicitis.
Thus i advice you to consult gasteroenterologist.
He may advise antibiotics if he suspect infection or food poisoning.
If he suspects appendicitis or gall bladder disease, he may advice ultrasound abdomen and pelvis with upper GI endoscopy.
In addition he may may do further blood and stool investigations to find the cause of vomiting.

Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
