Friend in nursing facility and waiting for referral to be sent to a rehabilitation center and he was told he could not get referral sent because he is being weaned. Weaning was started week 3 of his request to move. How long should weaning take it is now day 4 of breathing through nose at night . He has been weaning over a week now. Also, he was told he could not get referral sent until the stoma closes. He has requested to go to one of the best spinal rehabilitation centers in the area. Looks like the nursing home is stalling for other reasons. He also found out that records were not read and he should have begun trial long ago. Rehab has not heard of such and is wondering if they are stalling because of a bad bed sore he told me he has.
