Frontal Headaches. Blood Test Shows High Albumin, Alkaline Phosphate, SGOT Levels. Liver Problems?
Hello My daughter is 8 years old and has been complanining of frontal headaches for the last month. Had bloodwork done and her Albumin is elevated and also alkaline phosphatase is elevated as well. the Sgot is elevated anf Ly% is elevated according to the lab values....can you please tell me what this means? Does she has some kind of liver problem?
Hi, As you have written that your daughter's blood test like albumin, SGOT and alkaline phosphatase are elevated so there is some form of liver problem is present. But before confirmation some more test should be done like serum globulin level, serum A/G ratio, SGPT, prothrombin time, platelet count, ELISA test for HAV, HBV and HCV infection. some liver diseases are more occur in childhood like Alfa1 antitrypsin deficiency, autoimmune hepatitis, Infective hepatitis, biliary atresia. As headache could occur in cases of liver disease due improper handling of waste product of body by diseased liver which can start accumulating in brain. So, consult the treating doctor for further management. Take care of her, bye.
