Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am suffering from gastritis from past 5 yrs. Consulted many physicians and also a gastroenterologist , all were of the opinion that it is IBS . I was given some gastritis treatment and was OK with once in while bout of gastritis now n then. Now from past nearly two months I am constantly suffering from acid reflux and bloating. On seeing my general physician,he has advised me two drugs - Rapeed-L n one pain killer, which I am taking from past two days but to not much relief. What do u suggest ?
From the details provided, I feel that you are suffering from H.pylori infection of stomach and intestine.
An endoscopy along with biopsy of the stomach lining will confirm the diagnosis. A 14-21 days' course of a combination of rapeed, clarithromycin and tinidazole will cure your disease. Additionally, a deworming course should also be taken.
Discuss my opinion with your gastroenterologist, who will, most likely, conduct endoscopy, take biopsy of stomach lining and prescribe the suggested drugs in appropriate doses.
