Getting Gas Problem, Irritation In Throat And Difficulty To Breath. Should I Be Worried?
HI Doctor, I had drinks today and had my late dinner heavily. I have acid and gas problem. But around 4:00 AM i got a feeling liquid with irritation in my throat and i couldnt breath. it taste like vomiting . Immidietly i woke up and try to breathe normal. for few minutes it was like a hell. later i stated to breathe normal. But i got a fear that something went to my lungs. but i am breathing normal now. how do i know is something went in to my lungs? I was bit worried regarding this. because one of my friend was recently died having pneumonia fever due to the problem like this.
hi welcome to HCM thanks for query i can feel your concern it was due to regurgitation of semi digested food to esophagus , when food is rich in fat and heavily ingested it delayed gastric emptying ,and residual gases there , put reverse pressure to valve like tissue at esophageal-stoamach juncture as a result the content from stomach are regurgitated in to stomach when we are lying this regurgitation is more easy as gravity does not resist it and there is chances that some content may get in to lungs , if so it may cause aspiration pneumonia in your case i do not think there is chances of aspiration pneumonia as there must be pain , fever , difficulty during breathing with pneumonia if any above mentioned symptom develop visit near by chest physician i wish you good health
