Glaucoma In Both Eyes, Laser Surgery, Cost ?

Hello Doctors. My mother is suffering from Glaucoma in both eyes and the doctor advised her to undergo laser surgery . The cost of the surgery as claimed by the doctor is Rs.2500 per eye. I wanted to know if the cost is right because 2500 seem quite less to me and I fear she might not get proper treatment at this price. Any advice from you people is welcome. Thank you.

Dear Vipul1711, First you must realize that the cost of treatment has nothing to do with the outcome. As long as appropriate treatment is given the outcome will be as expected. From what you have mentioned, it seems your mother might be suffering from Angle Closure Glaucoma which can be treated by Laser peripheral iridectomy and cost of treatment quoted by your doctor seems to be reasonable. Also the cost will vary from doctor to doctor and place to place. So do not worry and follow your doctor's advice.
