Going Through Chemotherapy, Prescribed Lorazepam, Prochlorper For Nausea. Any Side Effects?
I am going through chemotherapy and was prescribed Lorazepam 0.5mg tab & Prochlorper 10mg tab for nausea. From the pharmacy I received only information on the Lorazepam. Do I take these together? Do I make sure I am at home and not at work. What could the 2 drugs together do to me as far as side effects? Thank you, Lee

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ivo Ditah's Response
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about you going through chemotherapy and the nausea associated with treatment. These drugs can be taken together. Prochlorper is for the nausea. Lorazepam is a more of a sleeping aid or helpful in the management of anxiety, stress, etc.
Theses drugs can cause sedation. This can reduce your reaction time and make activities that need precision like driving, mnipukating machines risky and you should actually refrain from doing them during this treatment period. Taken together, they can be more concerning and you should be very watchful.
I hope you find this helpful. Thank you for using our services and please feel free to ask for more information if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ivo, MD.
