Going To Have Total Hysterectomy By Da Vinci Assisted Laproscopy. Is Complication Lower And Duration Shorter Than Robotic Surgery?

I am having total hysterectomy in a few days. They're not taking my ovaries, just the uterus and cervix. It's the da vinci assisted laparoscopic version. Is the complication rate lower with the robotic assisted surgery? I have heard of some women having urinary issues afterward. Does the robotic surgery take as long as the traditional laparoscopic or is it shorter or longer or does it depend on the surgeon?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on health care magic.
Robotic surgery takes longer than laproscopic surgery.
It also depends on the surgeon's experience.
Certain Complications like bowel injury is less in robotic surgery.
Thermal injuries which are very common in laproscopic surgery are less with robotic surgery.
Both the procedures have their own advantages
Hope this helps.
regards,
Dr Nilofer
